Hoteliers have an opportunity to capitalize on revenue opportunities from increased demand for major sporting events, like the Olympics, World Cup tournaments, Tour de France race, Formula One races, etc. This can be a stressful challenge for hoteliers who have not experienced a major event hosted in your city for the first time. These events draw large transient audiences, which provide a unique opportunity to maximise revenue both over the short and long term, with high potential rewards. However, if not planned and executed well, hotels may risk displacing existing loyal guests, and flawed pricing strategies could lead to a half-empty hotel and high rates of no-shows and cancellations.
In this webinar, we will share a thorough case study on 2012 London Summer Olympics, and provide strategic recommendations for major event revenue management.
